Academy for Events was founded by Leora Pilevar–serial entrepreneur, acclaimed wedding planner, and passionate educator. Leora launched her first event planning company, Best Bride, in 2011 at the age of 18. While building Best Bride, she received her Master’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism from California State University, Northridge. While it gave her the sense of security she needed at the time, she found that hands-on experience as an event planner taught her more than a Master’s ever could. At Academy for Events, Leora and her expert collaborators are teaming up to bring 10+ years of skills developed in the field directly to you. Why study theory when you could learn from real people and real problems, in real time?

Leora and the team at Academy for Events are entrepreneurs who are passionate about providing excellence in the field of events education. This passion came full circle when Academy for Events opened its digital doors in 2021. 

We are supported by lifelong relationships with a variety of industry professionals and a hardworking team of experts to ensure that the Academy curriculum includes a broad range of workshops that encompasses all aspects of event planning, marketing, entrepreneurship, and more.
